 he wild places of the Underdark are home to many strongholds and many races, and among these are the dreaded mind flayers, or illithids, who maintain a cavern complex here. These squid-headed horrors are led by a large, powerful, and bloodthirsty warlord, with the assistance of a number of talented mages of their kind and priests of their hideous, tentacled god. Thus far their dominion does not extend beyond their cavern, but they are known to be making alliances with other factions, including the drow nobles of Naes'zan Thablar.
