 great stalagmite rising from the middle of the great cavern of Aluhryn, the exterior of the Spire has been artfully engraved with scenes from drow history. Faerie fire of numerous colors flashes along its surfaces, while a sickly green glow emanates from several of the ornate balconies carved out of the living rock, lending an aura of menace to the otherwise beautiful structure. As the central point in the city, many of its inhabitants use it as a meeting point prior to continuing on to wherever their dark natures dictate.
Within the Spire, the wise Sophistes, Edred and So'Crat, teach the geography and the history of their city. Newcomers are advised to listen very closely to them and absorb the wisdom that the Sophistes have to impart before venturing further. After bidding farewell to the keepers of wisdom, a newcomer may wish to investigate the donation chambers beneath the Spire, in the hope that some other denizen of the city will have dropped surplus equipment there.
